Unpredictable skies: Taiwan faces a week of weather whims (TVBS News)

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Unstable weather conditions are expected across Taiwan on Thursday (March 28) due to a warm and humid southwest wind. Brief showers or thunderstorms are forecasted in the central, southern, and eastern regions, with a chance of heavier rainfall in the south. Other areas will generally experience cloudy weather, with isolated showers in the mountains in the afternoon.

According to the WeatherRisk Facebook information, from Thursday evening to Friday, a passing front will bring brief showers to the northern and eastern regions, as well as Kinmen and Matsu. Other areas will remain mostly cloudy. Daytime highs are expected to reach 27 to 29 degrees in the north and east, and 30 to 31 degrees in the central and southern regions, making it feel quite muggy.

On Friday, a weak front will continue to cause instability in the atmosphere. Brief showers are expected in the central and northern regions before dawn, with afternoon heat triggering showers in the mountains nationwide. Thunderstorms may occur in mountainous areas.

On Saturday, as the front moves away from Taiwan, the environment will shift to a south-to-southwest wind, bringing more moisture and muggy conditions. The north and northeast will likely see brief showers, while other areas will be mostly cloudy, with a high chance of afternoon showers in the mountains.

The unstable weather will continue into Sunday due to the influence of the southwest wind. However, the wind speed will be noticeably faster, making the atmosphere more unstable. Brief showers are expected nationwide.

This unstable weather pattern will persist until Monday. The public is advised to stay updated on weather information when planning activities.
