TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) located on Yanping South Road in Taipei was reportedly shot at on Thursday (March 28) morning. The police have been notified and have launched an investigation.
Preliminary findings suggest that an air gun may have caused the shattered glass at the main entrance. Police are currently on the scene gathering evidence.
Recently, MODA has been embroiled in controversy over frequent overseas inspections and excessive spending. The department has faced criticism from Kuomintang (KMT) legislators.
In response, MODA stated that all business trip budgets are allocated per the guidelines set by the Executive Yuan's Directorate General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics (DGBAS).
They also said they are subject to audits by the Audit Office of the Control Yuan, and there are no irregularities in their budget allocation.
