TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The "Taiwan Chinese Humanistic Buddhism Association Cultural Relics Donation Ceremony" was held in Beijing on Monday (March 25).

Fo Guang Shan, the organization in charge, donated 30 Song and Ming Dynasty artifacts that had been lost overseas to China's National Cultural Heritage Administration (NCAA).

Taiwan Affairs Office Director Song Tao attended the event and delivered a speech.

Song stated that the donation demonstrates the deep love for Chinese culture among the people of Taiwan, and emphasized the need for both sides of the strait to promote the peaceful reunification process of the motherland jointly.

Song expressed that all compatriots on both sides of the strait are Chinese and should strengthen cross-strait cultural exchanges.

He urged for the joint protection of Chinese civilization's cultural heritage and the promotion of the excellent traditions of Chinese culture to foster spiritual unity.

The returned pieces include the heads of broken Buddhist images and painted sculptures of Buddha.
