Taiwan weather: cold front causes major temperature plunge (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Weather experts on Wednesday (March. 6) noted a significant dip in temperatures across Taiwan with the northern region experiencing a drop from 21-22 degrees Celsius to 13-14 degrees Celsius, and central areas falling from 24-25 degrees Celsius to 14-15 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the southern region noticeably shifted from humid warmth to chill, according to WeatherRisk analyst Ke Yu-ning.
Ke indicated that the cold front had already reached the north by early morning, causing coastal temperatures north of Taoyuan to drop to between 14-16 degrees Celsius.
On Thursday, the overcast weather across Taiwan will be affected by cold air, with brief chances of rainfall. Daytime temperatures would not rebound significantly, with southern regions averaging 17-22 degrees Celsius, central areas at 14-19 degrees Celsius, and the north left at a chilly 12-14 degrees Celsius.
Forecasting that this cold air mass will impact Taiwan until Saturday, Ke expected the cold air to be weaker next week, with lower temperatures relatively mild compared to this week.
