TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan will experience a heatwave Tuesday (March 5), with temperatures soaring to 32 degrees Celsius and even reaching 35 degrees in some areas.

However, after today, temperatures are set to plummet, maintaining colder weather for four consecutive days, with daytime highs dropping to 13 degrees and possibly even below 10 degrees in northern regions.

According to the Central Weather Administration (CWA), Tuesday's weather will be mostly sunny with temperatures ranging between 29 and 32 degrees in northern areas and Yilan and Hualien. Central, southern, and Taitung areas will experience temperatures of 32 to 34 degrees.

Meteorologist Wu Der-rong warned that a continental cold air mass from China will cause a noticeable drop in temperatures and significant rain in central and northern regions from Wednesday morning to Thursday, and slightly colder temperatures with sporadic rain in southern areas.

Wu predicts that the coldest temperatures, possibly dropping to 10 degrees, will occur in some northern areas on Friday and Saturday. The CWA forecasts a four-day cold spell from Wednesday to Saturday, with the lowest temperatures reaching 10 to 11 degrees on Thursday and early Friday and Saturday mornings.

A weather front passing over Taiwan from north to south will cause rain in the north and eastern regions tomorrow morning, with sporadic rainfall expected in central and southern areas due to an eastward shift of clouds and rain from southern China.

Rainfall is mainly expected in northern and eastern areas on Friday and Saturday, while central and southern mountainous areas could see cloudy skies and possible brief showers.
