TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani announced his marriage on Instagram on Thursday (Feb. 29), and mentioned that he will provide more details in an exclusive interview tomorrow while pleading for a lack of unauthorized interviews involving anyone — particularly his in-laws.
The LA Dodgers pitcher wrote, "I am pleased to inform you that I am married," adding that his wife is a Japanese woman.
Ohtani, who has recently started with a new team and in a new environment, expressed his hope for mutual support for the couple, and their dog, amidst these changes.
"We plan to continue on this journey together with our fans. We still have areas to grow in, but we would be grateful for your warmth and blessing," he said in the post.
In a previous interview, Ohtani revealed his thoughts about marriage and having children, stating that he hopes to "live a stable life." However, as a professional athlete, he wishes to make the most of his time in baseball and has no regrets.
