NTNU, TSMC launch joint semiconductor program (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — National Taiwan Normal University has collaborated with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to launch a new semiconductor program. The program will offer integrated courses, bringing the industry into academic circles.
The interest in the information session on Thursday (Feb. 22) was significant, with an unexpected number of attendees. The course has already attracted 340 students to register for the program.
Advanced by a collective effort from the College of Technology and Engineering, five departments will be included in the curriculum: Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, the Institute and Undergraduate of Electro-Optical Engineering, Physics, and Chemistry.
Students enrolled in this semiconductor program have a unique opportunity to participate in exclusive events and experience dedicated classes taught by senior TSMC instructors.
TSMC Talent Acquisition Division Manager Rex Yang suggested that this course could provide all students with insights into highly relevant industrial knowledge, regardless of their specific industry.
The semiconductor program involves taking 15 subjects, including five compulsory subjects and five elective subjects. Once the course is completed, students will be awarded a certificate of completion from TSMC and will be granted a guaranteed interview opportunity.
TSMC will also offer an employment bonus to students who average a grade of 80 or above and are accepted into the company.
For those who cannot fully complete the semiconductor course, TSMC assures there will be no impact on their graduation certificate. Instead, students are encouraged to plan their study timetable wisely to enhance the competitiveness of their resume before graduation.
