Tech leaders laud Hon Hai‘s economic contributions at Gala (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Hon Hai Precision Industry Co founder Terry Gou declared Tuesday night (Feb. 20) that the company had successfully improved the lives of millions of employees, as well as their families and communities, creating a new manufacturing ecosystem.
The statement came during a gala dinner marking Hon Hai's 50th anniversary, which hosted 500 prestigious guests both nationally and globally under the theme "gratitude, innovation, future".
Gou, during his speech, stated that the "Hon Hai-Foxconn model" became a foundation of the local economy, being a platform for nurturing local talent. As a founder, he considers it his proudest achievement.
The evening included prerecorded messages from global tech figureheads. Apple CEO Tim Cook offered his congratulations to Hon Hai via video, as did NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang who also hinted at future collaborative endeavors. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger shared via a recorded message his reflections on three decades of close collaboration with the company.
Before the gala came to a close, Hon Hai Chairman Young Liu presented commemorative gifts of Model E electric car models, manufactured by Hon Hai, to key clients, including Microsoft and Alphabet, Google's parent company.
