Taoyuan Lantern Festival 2024 kicks off on Feb. 21 (TVBS News)
TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — The 2024 Taoyuan Lantern Festival will light up Nanchang City Park and Hutoushan Innovation Hub in the Taoyuan District beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 21) for the first time, and running for 12 days until March 3.
The Taoyuan City Government has specially combined the concepts of environmental sustainability into this year's festival, under the theme "Sparkling Taoyuan."
In an innovative display, the festival will feature a light sculpture projection, synchronized with a music performance, which constitutes a first in the history of the lantern festival.
In addition to elements of ancient costumes and architecture, the festival site will be adorned with colorful lanterns, creating the atmosphere of a spellbinding journey through time for the public.
The lantern show employs a diversity of colors, supplemented by computer laser technology, to manifest the city's melting-pot spirit as envisioned by designers.
Throughout the festival, there will be large-scale performances every half hour, immersing attendees in the city's vibrant multiculturalism under a luminescent spectacle.
