TPP spokesperson Yang Bao-zheng resigns (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP) spokesperson Yang Bao-zheng resigned from her position as spokesperson and deputy group leader on Monday (Feb. 19).
At an afternoon press conference, an emotional Yang denied any internal conflicts, stressed that she has no plans to quit TPP, and expressed gratitude to the party chairman Ko Wen-je for nurturing her over the past four years.
As to whether she has plans to re-enter politics or run for a city council seat, Yang said she hadn't given it much thought.
Thanking Ko and the party for their cultivation, she plans to rest for now and perhaps even return to school for further education, Yang said.
Yang noted that she began her political career with the TPP as an absolute novice, landing the job of spokesperson.
The spokesperson stated that since her run for the Taipei City Councilor position, her work for the party, and the 2024 big election, she hadn't taken any time off and was exhausted.
The plan at this stage is to take a good rest and possibly prepare to return to academia for further studies.
