MIAOLI (TVBS News) — Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te visited Miaoli on Sunday (Jan. 7) and expressed his intention to transform the region into a thriving hub for tourism and technology, thereby creating job opportunities.
Lai paid a visit to a temple in Miaoli City, where he campaigned with legislative candidate Tseng Wen-hsueh. They celebrated their confidence in a double victory with symbolic hand gestures for the number 2.
Lai emphasized his balanced construction plans for all cities and counties of Taiwan. If elected as President and Tseng secures a seat in the legislature, Lai promised to develop Miaoli County together with Tseng, not only enhancing its tourism industry but also fostering advancements in technology.
Praising Tseng’s enthusiasm and courage to bring about change, Lai appreciated Tseng for standing alongside him a decade ago in the protest against the Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement. Lai urged the people of Miaoli to support Tseng, a candidate filled with ambitions and untainted by scandal.
Following his visit to Miaoli City, Lai made his way to another temple in Zhunan Township. In support of another legislative candidate, Kang Shih-ming, Lai admired Kang’s exemplary work ethic and dedication as Zhunan's town chief. He urged the public to support and vote for Kang, commending his honesty, seriousness, and hard work.
