Cynthia Wu reveals lack of initial support in VP role (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP) vice presidential candidate Cynthia Wu shared during an interview on Wednesday (Dec. 27) that her initial navigation in her new appointment did not come with much aid.
During an exclusive interview with Yahoo TV, Wu revealed that initially, the TPP did not assign any personnel to guide her. Some techniques and SOPs took several days, almost a week, to figure out. She further disclosed, "The party resources and focus were still primarily on Chairman (TPP Chairman Ko Wen-je)."
When asked about recent polls indicating a surge in her unpopularity, Wu dismissed the notion that the media had ill intentions. She attributed this to her low media profile in her political career. The main focus points were directed to issues such as nationality, tax, attitude towards reporters, and criticism of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Looking ahead, Wu emphasized her commitment to aligning with Ko Wen-je's campaign schedule. This includes activities like canvassing, policy announcements, and appearances on programs, all aimed at better communicating with the public.
