TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a low-temperature warning on Thursday (Dec. 21) for four regions: Keelung, New Taipei, Hsinchu County, and Taoyuan.

The forecast predicts temperatures dropping below six degrees Celsius tonight into Friday. This beige alert signifies a trend of falling temperatures attributed to the passing cold wave, as analyzed by the CWA.

Tomorrow morning, Taiwan's regions will experience even colder temperatures, with the north ranging between 11 to 13 degrees Celsius, central and southern Taiwan at 13 to 15 degrees, and the East Longitudinal Valley region at 15 to 17 degrees. Extreme lows could reach one or two degrees due to the cold wave.

Moreover, northern regions of central Taiwan and Yilan are expected to experience lows of 9 to 11 degrees tomorrow, while other areas will see temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees. The CWA reported that the cold conditions will persist despite a weakening cold front on Saturday.

Meteorologist Wu Te-jung, a professor at National Central University's Department of Atmospheric Sciences, predicts a gradual warming trend next Tuesday and Wednesday, with sunny weather returning.
