MOFA expands online passport booking slots (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced enhancements to its online passport application system on Tuesday (Dec. 19) in response to increased demand with the reopening of international borders post-pandemic.
The MOFA now allows individuals to schedule up to four applications in one reservation, a notable increase from the previous limit of one application per booking.
The MOFA also encourages the use of its "Online booking appointment for passport application," streamlining the process by enabling applicants to complete forms and schedule appointments in advance.
To manage queues efficiently, applicants can check the current waiting ticket count and the number of people in line on the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) website.
For inquiries, the public can access the passport Q&A section on the BOCA's global information network site or contact the passport inquiry hotline for assistance.
