DPP’s Lai, Hsiao lead KMT rivals by 5.2 points in poll (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A recent poll released on Friday (Dec. 8) by ETtoday shows the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Lai Ching-te and Hsiao Bi-khim leading the race, with the Kuomintang (KMT) candidates Hou Yu-ih and Jaw Shaw-kong closely trailing by 5.2 percentage points.
The survey places the Lai-Hsiao ticket at 39% support, slightly up from 37.4% on Nov. 30.
The Hou-Jaw ticket experienced a drop from 36.3% to 33.8% support, while the Taiwan People's Party's (TPP) Ko Wen-je and Cynthia Wu, the Ko-Wu ticket, also saw a decrease in their support from 19.6% to 18.1%.
Despite the shifts in percentages, DPP's Lai and Hsiao currently maintain a tangible lead over their KMT and TPP competitors.
As the election nears, all parties continue to campaign vigorously, vying for every possible vote to secure their political future in Taiwan.
The survey, conducted on Dec. 6-7, focused on residents aged at least 20. With a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of plus or minus 2.77%, the poll included responses from 1,251 valid participants.
