DPP‘s Lin slams Taipei mayor, offers ‘disdain‘ placard (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councilor Lin Yen-feng presented a traditional Chinese "disdain for the council" placard to Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an on Thursday (Dec. 7), accusing him of disrespecting the council.
During an interpellation session, Lin vehemently criticized the Taipei City Government for the controversial NT$190 million associated with the Taipei Music Center, insisting that the former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je should be held accountable for the funds.
Lin's remarks came after Chiang recently expressed that if the Ministry of Culture continues to withhold payment, he would consider initiating legal proceedings.
Prior to Chiang's response, the Taipei City Council's Education Committee has passed a resolution enabling the city government to cover the disputed amount in the interim.
