Tsai thanks overseas Chinese for backing Taiwan globally (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen on Wednesday (Dec. 6) extended her gratitude to the overseas Chinese community for being Taiwan's steadfast support, advocating for Taiwan's inclusion in international organizations, and helping to expand its global presence.
During a reception for the "2023 North American Taiwanese Associations Delegation (2023年北美各地台灣會館、台灣中心暨台灣協會回國訪問團)," President Tsai acknowledged the important role Taiwanese compatriots play in forging connections between Taiwan, the U.S., and Canada.
Despite challenges such as the pandemic and shifts in the international landscape, Tsai asserted that Taiwan has continued to promote its policies steadily, overcoming obstacles and bolstering national strength.
As the visiting delegation has scheduled tours to Changhua, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, President Tsai encouraged them to frequently return to Taiwan, and share their experiences with friends and family abroad, aiming to enhance their understanding and support for Taiwan.
Vice President Lai Ching-te also attended the event, joining President Tsai in greeting the delegation team members.
