TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Jhujian Catering Group announced on Thursday (Nov. 28) that it will provide year-end bonuses totaling NT$85 million, becoming the first restaurant group in Taiwan to offer such substantial rewards to its employees. Each employee will receive a bonus equivalent to at least 1.5 months of their salary and up to 3 months, depending on individual performance.

Industry experts attribute these generous bonuses to the significant recovery of Taiwan's domestic catering industry. Jason Lin, founder of Jhujian Catering Group, said: "The total revenue earned this year could reach an estimated NT$6.16 billion, with every other restaurant group predicted to achieve at least a 2 percent growth in performance."

In the first ten months of this year, Jhujian generated revenues of NT$4.8 billion, surpassing its entire 2022 revenue. Consequently, the company has decided to increase the salaries of all workers starting Jan. 1 next year.

All staff working in stores and outdoors will see their wages increase from NT$34,000 to NT$37,500, while management associates will receive raises from NT$46,000 to NT$48,000. According to the company, store managers will start at a monthly salary of NT$65,000.

Other restaurant chains in Taiwan are also experiencing growth. The TTFB Restaurant Group plans to offer one-month bonuses and expand its stores in major shopping areas.

Similarly, the Feasttogether Group, aiming for a revenue target of NT$8.5 billion this year, will increase its basic pay to NT$36,000 on New Year's Day and plans to operate between 15 to 20 branches in total.
