Hou Yu-ih slams Ko Wen-je for TPP-KMT pact ambiguity (TVBS News)
TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih criticized his Taiwan People's Party (TPP) counterpart Ko Wen-je on Saturday (Nov. 25), for the latter's lukewarm stance on collaborative efforts between the two parties, likening Ko's response to a betrayal despite KMT's exhaustive efforts to maintain good relations.
Hou, alongside the KMT legislative candidate for Taoyuan's 5th electoral district, Lu Yu-ling, inaugurated their joint campaign headquarters in an event that was also attended by KMT's vice-presidential candidate Jaw Shaw-kong.
Hou questioned Ko's differing interpretation of a previously signed six-point agreement between the parties, underscoring the importance of unity and discipline within the KMT ranks.
Amid scrutiny over Jaw's retention of his chairman position at the Broadcasting Corporation of China (BCC), Hou assured that the matter would be dealt with according to the law.
Jaw explained that he had already ceased all radio show activities and had requested leave from BCC, adding that he would comply with any requirements from the National Communications Commission (NCC) for clarification.
Jaw also accused the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of allocating funds to pro-green media outlets, denouncing this as collusion between politics and the media.
