Temperature likely to plunge to 18°C in north Taiwan (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A possible drop in temperature to 18 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan will start next Monday (Nov. 13) as cold air moves southward, with some regions experiencing colder conditions, weather expert Peng Chi-ming warned.
The forecast for Sunday indicates that the cold high pressure from the north is moving southeastwards, strengthening the northeastern monsoon, leading to rainfall in regions north of Miaoli.
Central and southern parts are less likely to be affected, with daytime highs still expected to hover around 29 to 30 degrees Celsius, said Peng.
He noted that while warmer conditions would return to the north by next Wednesday, another wave of cold air is expected to move southwards next Thursday afternoon, resulting in brief rainfall in central and northern areas, and sporadic rain in the south.
The weather expert also urged the public to stay warm next Friday and Saturday as another temperature will likely occur.
