Ko Wen-je’s disapproval rating surges to 42.3%: ETtoday Poll (TVBS News)

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential hopeful Ko Wen-je faces a significant increase in disapproval rating, up 14.5 percentage points to 42.3%, according to the latest poll published on Thursday (Nov. 9), holding the highest unpopularity rate among the contenders.

An ETtoday polling survey showed the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Lai Ching-te has an approval rating of 33% and a disapproval rating of 39.5%, with Kuomintang's (KMT) Hou Yu-ih scores 27.3% in approval and 32% in disapproval.

 


Ko garners an approval rating of 29.6% but a high disapproval level of 42.3%. Meanwhile, independent candidate Terry Gou stands at 17.9% approval and 33.9% disapproval.

As a result, Ko leads in unpopularity among the four candidates while Gou has the lowest approval ratings.

Compared to the same polling conducted from May 10 to 12, 2023, disapproval ratings for all four candidates have surged while approval ratings have declined.
 


Notably, Ko's disapproval rating soared by 14.5 percentage points, and Gou's popularity fell by 16.1 percentage points.
