TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is contemplating meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping post-U.S.-China talks during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, according to Japanese media reports.

As U.S. President Joe Biden is scheduled to meet with President Xi next Wednesday, Kishida plans to meet with the Chinese leader the following day.

Sources also revealed that Japan National Security Secretariat Secretary General Akiba Takeo will depart for China on Thursday for coordination efforts.

The Japanese Prime Minister will aim to discuss unresolved stance matters between the two nations, including Japan's call for China to lift import constraints on Japanese seafood products.

The dialogue is also intended to solidify bilateral cooperative relationships, nurturing stability in the region.

Leaders from the 21-member APEC summit will meet in San Francisco from Nov. 15 to 17.
