President Tsai praises opening of Int’l Talent Taiwan Office (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen stressed on Wednesday (Nov. 1) Taiwan's willingness to welcome professionals worldwide to work, invest, and live in the country.
Speaking at the inauguration of the launch press conference of the "International Talent Taiwan Office," Tsai expressed hope the one-stop service will assist foreign talent with visa procedures, employment, living arrangements, and educational matters for their children.
Steve Chen, co-founder of YouTube and the first Employment Gold Card holder, also attended the event.
President Tsai shared stories of a friend who had a similar background to Chen and had faced issues upon arrival in Taiwan.
This friend's experience highlighted the difficulties talents from diverse backgrounds might face in adapting to Taiwan's culture and system, she added.
President Tsai further noted her desire to make relevant policies more flexible and welcoming by establishing special counters and service teams.
