Traffic restrictions announced for Taipei’s "Nuit Blanche" (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei City's annual "Nuit Blanche" will unfold on Saturday (Oct.7) night, transforming Hsinyi District into an immense open-air art gallery.
Due to the expected large crowds, traffic restrictions will be in effect from noon on Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday. Several roads will be closed to vehicles, some bus stops will be deactivated, and a few YouBike public bicycle services will be temporarily suspended.
The closed roads include City Hall Road, Hsin Renai Road, the express lanes of Section 4 Renai Road, and Yixian Road.
For the convenience of participants, the Bannan Line and Tamsui-Xinyi Line will extend their one-way operation to Taipei Main Station from midnight to 3 a.m. on Oct. 8. Organizers urge revelers to utilize public transportation.
The locations include the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the City Council, and the City Hall. Also, the National Palace Museum and the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park will extend their opening hours.
As part of Nuit Blanche, the outdoor areas and the Songshan Tobacco Factory of the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park will be open 24 hours, and exhibitions will also extend their opening hours into the evening.
