TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Foxconn founder Terry Gou alluded on Monday (Dec. 19) that the Tsai administration was unwilling to import the Pfizer-BNT vaccine.
Gou said that importing the vaccines went through a lot of challenges and the pandemic in Taiwan may have been eased if the decision was made sooner.
"If the vaccines could have arrived 2 months earlier, I think our death toll could have been greatly reduced," Gou said.
Gou also stressed that it is important to put the lives of the people as the first priority, and is disappointed that the current administration appears to not have done this.
Guo later mentioned that if Taiwan didn't order vaccines from BNT, it "would be an injustice to BNT." Because "during our toughest times, they extended a helping hand."
