TAICHUNG (TVBS News) — The CTBC Brothers won the 33rd season of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) Taiwan Series title for the second consecutive year on Wednesday (Nov. 9).
The CTBC Brothers won four games this year in a row again and ended the last game scoring 3-2 against the Rakuten Monkeys, taking home the trophy.
Thousands of yellow ribbons poured down in the Brother's home stadium, the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, while the team and their fans celebrated their 9th CPBL championship.
Yueh Cheng-hua, 21, was this year's series' MVP, being the youngest in CPBL's history. His teammate, catcher Francisco Peña, was named an outstanding player alongside Monkeys' center fielder Chen Chen-wei.
