TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Metro rolled out on Monday (Nov. 7) a new carriage on the Blue Line decorated with photos of Taiwanese badminton player Tai Tzu-ing. LCD screens in the carriage also play a new commercial she recently filmed with her grandmother.
The move shows how top badminton athletes like Tai have received greater public recognition in recent years, in addition to basketball and baseball players. Taiwan athletes have been performing excellently on the international stage, and the government is making more efforts to support them and to promote sports development among young children.
The MRT carriage, which is also equipped with high-tech equipment for more convenient travel, has become a must-see destination for fans hoping to take some photos with their sports idol.
