TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Meteorologists forecasted that Taiwan will face fluctuating weather across as various regions on Saturday (March 7) and Sunday (March 8). WeatherRisk (天氣風險) reported that areas like the north coast of Keelung, eastern Taipei, Yilan, Hualien, Taitung, and the Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島) will experience brief showers. Other regions will enjoy partly cloudy to sunny skies.
Temperatures will vary significantly across the island. The northern and northeastern regions will see daytime highs of 17 to 19 degrees Celcius on Saturday (March 7), while Hualien will reach 19 to 21 degrees Celcius. Central and Taitung areas expect 23 to 25 degrees Celcius, and the south will experience 26 to 28 degrees Celcius. Urban areas in the north and northeast will drop to 14 to 15 degrees celcius overnight into Sunday morning, with even lower temperatures in open areas.
Temperatures will slightly rise, with the north, northeast by Sunday. Hualien will reach 20 to 23 degrees Celcius, while Central and Taitung areas will see highs of 24 to 26 degrees Celcius, while the south remains at 26 to 28 degrees Celcius. Meteorologist Wu Sheng-yu (吳聖宇) noted that next Monday (March 9) and Tuesday (March 10) will bring increased rainfall to the north and east as another northeast monsoon arrives. He also indicated that the central and southern plains will see more clouds, with brief mountain showers possible.
Meteorologist Wu Der-rong (吳德榮) highlighted that the weather will stabilize from next Thursday (March 12) onward, with dry, cold air bringing sunny conditions but significant day-night temperature differences. He advised caution with fire safety in mountainous areas during this period.
