TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 2026 Sakura Festival (高雄櫻花季) will take place from March 13-15 at Dream Mall (夢時代) in Kaohsiung. The event promises a dynamic blend of music and cherry blossom-themed experiences, featuring popular acts from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, including a special performance by renowned singer May Sun (孫淑媚). Sun, who debuted 31 years ago, has captivated audiences with classic Taiwanese songs and received praise for her contrasting role in "Sunshine Women's Choir" (陽光女子合唱團).
The festival, hosted by President Chain Store Corporation (統一超商股份有限公司) and Kwan Kwan Integrated Marketing Co., Ltd. (寬寬整合行銷股份有限公司), will feature large concerts and cherry blossom-themed setups. Organizers confirmed Sun's 40-minute performance that evening, expressing hope that her voice will bring a new level of emotion to Kaohsiung.
The The 2026 Sakura Festival features pink visual installations, photo spots, and exclusive food and drink offerings, creating a spring romantic atmosphere. A diverse lineup, including South Korean boy band: BOYNEXTDOOR, SUPER JUNIOR-D&E, HIGHLIGHT; South Korean girl group: VIVIZ; South Korean singer: Wendy, and ALI. In addition, South Korean singer Lee Young-ji (李泳知) will headline on March 14, promising an exciting show. The festival's stage design will combine cinematic and musical elements, enhancing the audience's experience.
Meanwhile, the local singers, including Henry Hsu (許富凱), Genie Chuo (卓文萱), Ariel Tsai (蔡佩軒), and Chinese singer based in Taiwan Ding Dang (丁噹), will perform during the event. These acts will offer a range of musical styles, providing a multi-sensory experience through music, lights, and cherry blossoms.
