TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA, 台灣電路板協會) is set to showcase a Taiwan high-end packaging zone at the APEX EXPO 2026 in Anaheim, Calif., from March 17-19. This initiative aims to help Taiwanese businesses seize opportunities amid global supply chain restructuring.
TPCA highlighted that the United States once led the global printed circuit board (PCB, 印刷電路板) industry. However, since the late 1990s, globalization and industry consolidation have transformed it into a niche market. Data from TPCA and the Industrial Technology Research Institute reveal that in 2025, U.S. PCB manufacturers had a global output value of approximately US$4.01 billion, ranking fifth worldwide with a market share of around 4.2%.
Looking ahead to 2026, TPCA expects U.S. PCB companies to see a 10% growth in output value, driven by defense orders and infrastructure projects like data centers, potentially surpassing the US$4.4 billion mark. TPCA noted that Taiwanese PCB products, such as smartphones, servers, and laptops, continue to benefit from zero-tariff treatment, with most entering the U.S. as finished products, circumventing component tariff barriers.
In response to global supply chain shifts, TPCA has bolstered ties between Taiwan's PCB industry and the U.S. market. In 2025, they hosted the Taiwan High Tech Forum in California and participated in a Taiwan Image Exhibition in Texas. During APEX EXPO 2026, TPCA will collaborate with members like Kaston (嘉世通企業), Vesta Microsystem CO., Ltd. (景晶科技), Microcosm Technology Co., Ltd. (律勝科技), Gredmann Taiwan Ltd. (台灣格雷蒙), and TAI HONG CIRCUIT INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD. (台豐印刷電路) to establish the Taiwan advanced packaging display zone, fostering international cooperation and exchange.
