TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Bolt, an emerging European ride-hailing service, has marked three months in Taiwan with a nearly 50% increase in completed rides. On Thursday (Jan. 15), the company analyzed operational data, highlighting significant growth in its platform's business since its entry into the market in late September 2025.
Bolt has observed a surge in ride requests on Friday and Saturday nights, driven by nighttime outings and weekend activities. Popular pick-up locations include nightlife and dining hubs in Taipei's Xinyi District, such as ATT 4 FUN and Ichiran Ramen (一蘭拉麵), as well as Taipei Main Station (台北車站).
Users have diverse needs, with the longest single journey recorded at 354 kilometers from Taipei to Kaohsiung, showcasing demand for long-distance travel. Highly engaged Bolt drivers have earned net weekly incomes exceeding NT$60,000, after deducting platform service fees.
Tseng Hsien-hung (曾憲竑), Bolt's Taiwan general manager, noted, "From the nighttime and weekend usage peaks, we can observe people's demand for safe, real-time mobility services." Bolt plans to deepen its local market presence by integrating global operational experience with Taiwan's urban characteristics and offering diverse mobility options in collaboration with local fleets and driver partners.
