TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Cement's European subsidiary secured six Italian highway charging station contracts to deploy revolutionary energy storage technology Tuesday (Jan. 13). Atlante will install Taiwan Cement's patented "EnergyArk" cement energy storage cabinets at strategic locations to address Europe's aging power grid challenges. The deal positions Taiwan's technology as a solution for Europe's electric vehicle infrastructure expansion.

The contracts include prime locations on the A1 motorway's Feronia Ovest and the A14's San Trifone Ovest, both of which hold significant commercial and strategic value. Additional sites along the A26, A23, and A27 routes serve as crucial trans-European travel corridors, strengthening electric vehicle charging continuity across Italy. These locations connect major Italian cities and link to the charging networks of neighboring European countries.

The "EnergyArk" technology functions as a power buffers that enable 360kW ultra-fast charging stations to meet instantaneous high-current demands without overloading local grids. Atlante, established in 2022, has deployed over 1,000 green power charging stations across Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal. The company aims to build Southern Europe's largest charging network and virtual grid through its integrated charge-storage model.

Gabriele Tuccillo, CEO of Atlante Italy, said securing the six highway stations strengthens the company's market position across Southern Europe's expanding electric vehicle market. He stated, "This proves the importance of Taiwan Cement's integrated charge-storage model" for addressing European grid limitations while meeting growing demand. The technology enables rapid expansion of charging infrastructure without requiring costly power grid upgrades.

Chairman Nelson Chang (張安平) of Taiwan Cement has championed Atlante's expansion since the subsidiary's launch, aiming to revolutionize European charging infrastructure. The Italian contracts represent Taiwan's growing influence in global sustainable energy markets through innovative cement-based storage solutions. Taiwan Cement's technology offers Europe a path to accelerate electric vehicle adoption despite grid constraints. ◼
