TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tigerair Taiwan (台灣虎航) announced a series of new services on Thursday (Jan. 8) during a press conference, aiming to enhance passenger experience and expand its market reach in 2026. The airline introduced a subscription model, in-flight entertainment, and travel packages, while also revealing its development vision for the year.
Chairman Huang Shih-hui (黃世惠) disclosed that Tigerair Taiwan plans to introduce new aircraft without increasing its fleet size and explore new routes, potentially adding destinations in northern Taiwan and Kaohsiung. According to a press release, a new subscription service, "Team Tiger," will allow members to pay monthly based on travel frequency, offering free round-trip tickets and priority services, with a first-quarter launch expected.
In the second quarter, Tigerair Taiwan will roll out "tigertel," an AI-enhanced travel planning service providing comprehensive travel experiences, including flights and accommodations. The airline also plans to launch a partnership for connecting flights in the third quarter, enabling travelers to book combined itineraries with extended destinations in Japan and Australia.
To streamline the airport experience, Tigerair Taiwan will expand its self-service check-in across multiple airports, allowing passengers to receive electronic boarding passes online and reduce queuing times. A new in-flight entertainment system will debut in the second quarter, allowing passengers to stream content on personal devices and purchase duty-free items and meals.
