TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei City Government announced on Friday (Dec. 12) that Shanghai will host the 2025 Taipei-Shanghai Twin City Forum (2025雙城論壇) from Saturday (Dec. 27) to Sunday (Dec. 28). The forum, themed around technology changes in life, will focus on AI and urban development through keynote speeches and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation. The annual forum brings together officials from both cities to discuss shared urban challenges.
Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) will lead the delegation to attend the main forum on Saturday (Dec. 27) and visit Zhongshan Hospital (中山醫院) in Shanghai to exchange smart medical technology insights. Both cities plan to sign an MOU on water management during the forum. The delegation will also visit Xuhui Riverside (徐匯濱江) to explore river management experiences.
The Taipei delegation will visit the Red Panda Habitat at Shanghai Zoo (上海動物園) to participate in ecological conservation and species exchange activities on Sunday (Dec. 28). Shanghai will host a dinner for the Taipei representatives on Saturday (Dec. 27), while Taipei will reciprocate with a luncheon on Sunday (Dec. 28), facilitating business exchanges. The delegation will return to Taipei on the evening of Sunday (Dec. 28), concluding the Twin City Forum. ◼
