TAIPEI (TVBS News) — K-pop group TWICE will perform with only eight members at their Kaohsiung concerts this weekend after JYP Entertainment Corporation (JYP娛樂), the group's management agency, announced on Thursday (Nov. 20) Chaeyoung (彩瑛) will withdraw due to health issues. The performer has been diagnosed with vasovagal syncope and will pause all activities until December 31 to focus on medical treatment and recovery.
Medical professionals advised the performance break after evaluating Chaeyoung's condition, JYP Entertainment confirmed in their official statement. The company reported that Chaeyoung expressed regret about missing upcoming concerts in Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. JYP Entertainment has pledged full support for her recovery while encouraging fans to send messages of encouragement during her treatment period.
The remaining eight TWICE members will perform at Kaohsiung National Stadium (世運主場館), Taiwan's largest sports arena, for their 10th-anniversary tour this weekend. Event organizers will proceed with the planned "THIS IS FOR ONCE in Kaohsiung" spectacle featuring laser shows across seven city landmarks. The tour's signature blue visual theme will transform Kaohsiung's cityscape despite Chaeyoung's absence. ◼
