TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Applied Materials inaugurated its Sinji International Logistics Center (新吉國際物流中心) Tuesday (Nov. 18) in Tainan's Sinji Industrial Park (新吉工業區). The American semiconductor equipment supplier's facility will enhance Taiwan's semiconductor supply chain by managing material dispatch and product storage for southern science park factories.
Ching Chou Company (慶洲公司) invested NT$2 billion (around US$64.5 million) in the logistics center spanning 1.66 hectares with 7,700 ping storage area. The five-story building received customs certification and handles shipments for domestic and international clients. The facility serves as critical link between manufacturing, research, and market distribution.
Tainan Deputy Mayor Chao Ching Hui (趙卿惠) emphasized Applied Materials' substantial contributions to Southern Taiwan Science Park (南科園區). She said the global semiconductor equipment manufacturer has been deeply rooted in Tainan for years, making great contributions to science park supply chain development.
Tainan City Government said it has promoted development of technology hubs including Southern Taiwan Science Park and science parks in Shalun District (沙崙) and Liouying District (柳營). The initiative connects semiconductor, AI, smart manufacturing, and green energy industries while advocating smart warehouse management and low-carbon transportation policies.
