TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A landslide blocked County Highway 102 (102線) in New Taipei City's Shuangxi District (雙溪區) Tuesday (Nov. 18) at 7:51 a.m. Officials closed the road in both directions after mud and debris covered the highway. Northeast seasonal winds brought heavy rain that likely triggered the landslide.
Shuangxi District Office dispatched machinery to clear debris and expects single-lane reopening by 6 p.m. Police established control points at 21-kilometer mark near Shuangxi and 15.8-kilometer mark near Ruifang District (瑞芳). Officers advise drivers to take alternate routes during cleanup operations.
Authorities notified Traffic Control Center (交控中心) and police radio about traffic management measures. Shuangxi District Office engaged contractors to expedite cleanup operations. Officials recommend travelers use County Highway 37 North (北37) or public transportation between Shuangxi and Ruifang. ◼
