TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese outfielder Lin An-Ko (林安可) is expected to sign with Japan's Seibu Lions (西武獅) Monday (Nov. 17). The Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions (統一獅) announced Lin could become the 10th Taiwanese player in Seibu's history.
Lin exercised his overseas free agent rights this postseason, drawing interest from several Japanese professional baseball teams. He will reportedly sign a two-year guaranteed contract with a third-year option, with salary and transfer fees potentially reaching US$4 million (around NT$124.4 million).
Lin achieved a .318 batting average this season, ranking second in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL, 中華職棒) , Taiwan's top professional baseball league. He recorded 23 home runs and 73 RBIs, placing third in the league.
