TAIPEI (TVBS News) — China issued arrest warrants Thursday (Nov. 13) for two Taiwanese political influencers accused of threatening national unity. The Quanzhou Public Security Bureau (泉州公安局) in Fujian Province (福建省) offers 250,000 yuan (around US$35,000/NT$1.09 million) rewards for information on their whereabouts. China Central Television (CCTV, 央視) reported the targets are Wen Tsu-yu (溫子渝), known as Pa Chiung (八炯), and Chen Po-yuan (陳柏源), known as Mannam PYC (閩南狼).
China's Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO, 國台辦) labeled the duo as Taiwan independence advocates in March. Chinese authorities accuse them of bullying Chinese spouses in Taiwan and collaborating with anti-China forces in western countries. The influencers previously attracted attention for their anti-China, pro-Taiwan stance, according to CCTV News.
Chinese authorities urge Taiwanese citizens to report illegal activities and warn about Taiwan independence dangers. Informants assisting in capturing the suspects could receive rewards ranging from RMB 50,000 to RMB 250,000 (around US$7,000 to US$35,000). China recently accused Democratic Progressive Party (DPP, 民進黨) legislator Puma Shen (沈伯洋) of splitting the country, threatening global arrest through Interpol. ◼ (At time of reporting, US$1 equals approximately NT$31)
