TAIPEI (TVBS News) — New Taipei City hosted major startup events Nov. 6-7 with over 200 investors and industry experts attending three entrepreneurial conferences. The 2025 New Taipei Demo Day, Next Star Demo Day, and Northern Taiwan University Incubation Center Exchange Conference showcased young entrepreneurs' projects. Organizers highlighted New Taipei's role as a launching platform for startup innovation and implementation.
Twelve startup teams competed in the 2025 New Taipei Demo Day, including InnoSquare (新北創力坊). Six university teams from northern Taiwan participated in the 'Next Star Demo Day' competition. National Taiwan Ocean University's (NTOU, 國立台灣海洋大學) 'Smart Shuttle' project won the Startup Potential Award and NT$30,000 (around US$971).
The Youth Department of New Taipei City (新北市政府青年局), the city's youth development agency, reported successful demonstration of startup development processes. The New Taipei Youth Entrepreneurship Base (新北市青創基地) has supported entrepreneurs in raising funds over two years. Total investments are expected to surpass NT$300 million (around US$9.7 million) by end-2025.
Industry experts from Amazon Global Selling and other companies shared success stories and market trends during the exchange conference. New Taipei City, home to 1.15 million young people, has seen nine teams secure funding in 2024-2025.
