TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan Association of Nurse Practitioners (TNPA, 台灣專科護理師學會) hosted the event on Friday (Nov. 7), concluding the second Asia-Pacific Congress of Nurse Practitioners (APCNP) in Taiwan and drawing nearly 700 nurse practitioners and experts from 17 countries. The event underscored the nation's leadership in advanced nursing across the Asia-Pacific region.

TNPA President Tung Heng-hsin (童恒新) and founding President Tsay Shiow-Luan (蔡秀鸞) led the signing of an international cooperation memorandum with representatives from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and four other countries. This agreement fortifies Taiwan's position in advanced nursing care. Tung and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU, 國立陽明交通大學) President Lin Chi-hung (林奇宏) inaugurated the event, highlighting the essential role of nurse practitioners in integrating AI technology with compassionate care.

Vice Minister of Health and Welfare Lin Ching-yi (林靜儀) praised the conference's focus on generative AI during a banquet speech, noting that these exchanges will become an important reference for the government in promoting future medical development. Tech giants like Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. ( Foxconn, 鴻海) and NVIDIA showcased AI's potential to empower the nursing profession and unveiled future smart hospital concepts.

Head of Foxconn's Business Group B, Chiang Chih-hsiung (姜志雄), revealed the collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI, 工研院) to advance the Taiwan Digital Health Alliance (HiMEDt). NVIDIA Senior Manager Liu Kuan-liang (劉冠良) introduced the clinical applications of the Robot Nursing Assistant platform, demonstrating AI's potential in healthcare collaboration. The event delivered 613 papers, laying a solid academic foundation for AI's future in clinical decision-making, care, and education.
