TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Distinguished international guests numbering 194 will attend Taiwan's Double Ten National Day celebrations, including 120 guests forming congratulatory delegations. The annual National Day assembly will culminate Friday (Oct. 10) in front of the Office of the President (總統府). Nine congratulatory delegations from the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Caribbean, and Europe regions will participate.
Taiwan will host a National Day fireworks display in Nantou on Oct. 10 evening, while Taipei Guest House (台北賓館) will hold a celebratory banquet. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA, 外交部) confirmed that three state-level delegations from Belize, Saint Lucia, and Paraguay will attend. These delegations represent Taiwan's diplomatic allies in the Americas and Caribbean regions.
Dame Froyla Tzalam (芙拉), governor general of Belize; Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles, Governor General of Saint Lucia; and Raúl Luis Latorre Martínez, President of Paraguay's Chamber of Deputies, accepted invitations. MOFA, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed these delegations will meet President Lai and attend Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung's (林佳龍) banquet.
The Ministry has arranged various programs to help guests understand Taiwan's current political and economic developments, fostering bilateral exchanges. Swedish MPs and young political leaders from the European Valued Important Partnership (EVIP) will visit, underscoring strong friendships. ◼
