TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese tech giant Advantech (研華) announced a strategic partnership with Edge Impulse, a Qualcomm subsidiary, Friday (Oct. 3) to accelerate edge AI development across multiple industries. The collaboration integrates Edge Impulse's AI development tools into Advantech's edge computing platform, lowering barriers for AI implementation and enabling rapid deployment of intelligent business solutions.
The partnership was unveiled at Edge Impulse's annual Imagine conference in California, targeting innovation across manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and smart cities. The collaboration promises to reduce product time-to-market while accelerating AI solution adoption across these diverse industrial sectors. Industry experts anticipate significant impact from the streamlined development process.
Miller Chang (張家豪), president of Advantech's Embedded Sector, emphasized the partnership's potential to streamline customer model development processes. "By pre-integrating Edge Impulse into Advantech's edge computing platforms, customers would be able to greatly simplify model development workflows and seamlessly transition from proof-of-concept to real-world deployment," said Chang. "This collaboration would provide strong support for innovators of all scales."
Zach Shelby, vice president of product management at Qualcomm Finland RFFE Oy, highlighted advanced developer tools that support production-stage deployment and scaling. "Together, we plan to make AI development more intuitive and accessible, so that developers and enterprises can accelerate innovation and bring smarter solutions to market faster," said Shelby. The partnership targets both developers and enterprises seeking faster market entry. ◼
