TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Donations continue flooding into Hualien's Guangfu Township (光復鄉) following devastating landslide dam overflow from Matai'an Creek. Hualien County Council Speaker Chang Chun (張峻) announced Thursday (Oct. 2) that relief efforts have drawn support from various sectors across Taiwan. The eastern county township, affected by the natural disaster, has become the focus of widespread humanitarian assistance.
Chang established a material distribution platform at Fuan Temple (富安宮) to expedite supply delivery to affected residents. The county council speaker praised community cooperation in the disaster zone, which has maintained smooth platform operations. This solidarity demonstrates the resilience and mutual support that provides hope to Guangfu's recovery efforts.
