TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's National Day Preparatory Committee (國慶籌備委員會) unveiled commemorative souvenirs Thursday (Sept. 18) for the 2025 National Day celebration. The eco-friendly gifts include hats, water bottles, and tote bags designed to reflect environmental responsibility and national pride.
Officials announced this year's theme: "A Beautiful Taiwan Today, A Better Taiwan Tomorrow" (中華民國生日快樂). The design concept emphasizes "To use a pen as blades to carve out history. To use a pen as wings towards the future." Colors include sky blue, sunlight white, earth red, and "Morandi Blue" for solemnity.
The design philosophy includes five elements: freedom of brushstrokes (筆觸自由), confidence in expression (揮灑自信), dynamic movement (運筆靈動), the pen as blades (筆為刃), and the pen as wings (筆為翼). These aspects symbolize Taiwan's diversity, inclusivity, and innovation. Brushstroke freedom represents Taiwan's diverse expression, while confident expression reflects the Taiwanese people's straightforward nature.
