TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) announced a sweeping Cabinet reshuffle Wednesday (Aug. 27), reshuffling personnel across 10 government agencies and affecting 16 senior officials in Taiwan's most significant administrative reorganization this year. The Executive Yuan (行政院), Taiwan's cabinet, initiated the comprehensive personnel changes as part of a broader governmental restructuring effort. Cho expressed appreciation to departing officials for establishing a solid foundation and confirmed the new Cabinet lineup would be formally introduced to the public Thursday.

The Premier delivered his remarks during the fourth session of the "Evaluation of the Trust Industry's Trust 2.0 Program" (信託業推動信託2.0計畫評鑑), highlighting the Cabinet's collaborative achievements over the past 15 months. Cho specifically acknowledged the substantial contributions of four departing ministers: National Development Council Minister Liu Chin-ching (劉鏡清), Economic Affairs Minister Kuo Jyh-huei (郭智輝), Digital Affairs Minister Huang Yen-nun (黃彦男), and Health and Welfare Minister Chiu Tai-yuan (邱泰源). The Premier praised their foundational work in establishing comprehensive frameworks for Taiwan's future economic development strategies.

Cho expressed high expectations for the incoming Cabinet team, emphasizing their crucial role in advancing the ambitious "AI Action Cabinet 2.0" (AI行動內閣2.0) initiative alongside existing government members. Executive Yuan Secretary-General Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) and Financial Supervisory Commission Chairperson Peng Jin-lung (彭金隆) attended the ceremony, witnessing the leadership transition. The Premier commended Peng's exemplary performance over the past year while encouraging the financial sector to support Kung's upcoming transition to Minister of Economic Affairs. ◼
