TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Cantopop superstar Eason Chen (陳奕迅) has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the postponement of his highly anticipated concert series in southern Taiwan, Universal Music (環球音樂) announced via social media on Thursday (May 15). The record label's Facebook statement confirmed the diagnosis that has disrupted the performer's scheduled appearances.

The three-night engagement originally scheduled for May 16-18 at Kaohsiung Arena (K-Arena, 高雄巨蛋), a major venue in Taiwan's second-largest city, has been rescheduled to May 29-31. According to the label's statement, Chen began experiencing symptoms Wednesday evening before receiving confirmation of his COVID-19 infection early Thursday, prompting organizers to suspend all performance activities while the artist focuses on his health.

The Hong Kong-born performer conveyed "deep regret" and apologized to fans for the unexpected schedule change that delayed his return to Kaohsiung. Behind the scenes, production staff have scrambled to reorganize the complex concert logistics for the new dates. Ticketing arrangements allow attendees to retain their original seats for the rescheduled shows, while those preferring refunds must follow procedures through tixCraft (拓元售票系統), Taiwan's primary ticketing platform, with comprehensive reimbursement information expected later today. ◼
