TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's influential technology industry group is positioning artificial intelligence at the forefront of Asia's premier tech exhibition. The Taipei Computer Association (台北市電腦公會), a leading industry organization, revealed plans on Friday (April 25) to launch COMPUTEX 2025 with a dedicated AI summit that will convene global technology powerhouses including Intel, Amazon Web Services, and Taiwan-based server manufacturer Wiwynn (緯穎).
The AI NEXT FORUM, scheduled for May 6, will serve as the intellectual cornerstone of the larger exhibition taking place later that month. Exhibition planners have designed the forum to address accelerating technological changes that are reshaping global commerce, particularly advances in generative AI and sophisticated language models. Several Taiwanese tech giants will join the discussions, including the semi-governmental Institute for Information Industry (III, 資訊工業策進會), industrial computing leader Advantech (研華), consumer electronics manufacturer ASUSTeK (華碩), and power components specialist Delta Electronics (台達電子).
Forum organizers cited research from global consulting firm McKinsey that projects artificial intelligence technologies will create $4.4 trillion in economic value, underscoring the strategic importance of AI adoption for maintaining competitive advantage. The main COMPUTEX exhibition will run from May 20 to May 23, transforming Taipei's convention centers into a sprawling technology showcase featuring 1,400 companies occupying 4,800 exhibition booths. This year's program emphasizes three strategic pillars: computational innovation and robotics, emerging technologies, and transportation solutions. ★
