PINGTUNG (TVBS News) — The Kan Hai Art Museum (看海美術館) in Pingtung County will launch a unique outdoor exhibition titled "Temp Monster" (怪獸代班) on Friday (April 25), including inflatable art installation "Hugging Cat" by Sakura Hanabusa, "Greedy Rabbit," and "Mysterious Sea World" by Yuka Abe.
The county's Information and International Affairs Department (屏東縣政府傳播暨國際事務處) released a statement Thursday, highlighting the installation of nine popular soft sculptures by artists from Japan and Taiwan. The installation team took advantage of favorable weather to set up the pieces, transforming the site into a whimsical monster wonderland.
Excited visitors have begun flocking to the site to photograph the sculptures, expressing delight at the unexpected opportunity. However, officials cautioned that weather conditions, particularly strong winds, might affect the inflatable exhibits, potentially leading to early closures.
The exhibition will run until July 27 at the Haikou Port. Alongside the art, a "monster supply station" will offer Taiwan-exclusive merchandise, including museum-exclusive coffee, refreshing drinks, and local treats. Visitors can check exhibition updates on the county Government's Facebook page or the "Temp Monster" website.
