The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, claimed at least 26 lives and injured dozens. The Resistance Front, an affiliate of the Islamic militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility.
President Lai emphasized Taiwan's solidarity with the international community, condemning the brutal act against civilians. He stated, "Our hearts are with the people of India." President Lai also shared Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's post on X, offering condolences and strength to the victims' families. The India Taipei Association (印度台北協會) responded to President Lai's message of support and unity by sharing his post on X. They expressed gratitude for President Lai's solidarity, which deeply moved them.
